LES VINS DE VIENNE

Yves Cuilleron, Pierre Gaillard and François Villard are old friends; and they’re also impassioned winemakers with an enviable reputation for their Rhône right-bank wines. In 1996 the threesome embarked on a brave new venture to revive the lost vineyards of Seyssuel. The scheme involved crossing to the other side of the river and re-planting the few hectares of the ancient vineyards alongside the Château des Archevêques to Syrah, from which they produced their first vintage in 1998. They then went on to buy vineyards in Condrieu, Saint-Péray, Saint-Joseph and Côte Rôtie, and their business continues to grow apace.
