VINS JEAN-LUC COLOMBO

Jean-Luc Colombo is a man of passion. His mother was a chef in Marseille, and Jean-Luc developed a taste for good food and fine flavours at an early age. Studying wine was a logical next step. In 1984, he and his wife Anne (also a winemaker) opened a wine laboratory – the ‘Centre Œnologique des Côtes du Rhône’ in Cornas. Jean-Luc was soon in demand as a winemaking consultant in wineries throughout the Rhône Valley and Provence.

He acquired his first vineyard in 1980, and at last his long-standing dream to become a winegrower came true.  The vineyard was planted to old Syrah vines on a granite hillside overlooking the village of Cornas. The first vintage for his “Les Ruchets” was 1987, made from grapes grown to a very high environmental standard. A characterful, elegant, terroir-expressive wine.

 Jean-Luc and Anne’s daughter Laure has inherited her parents’ passion for wine, and joined the estate team in 2010. Laure is a winemaker and keen traveller, full of enthusiasm for life; she is set to bring a new burst of energy to the family estate.
